Over 1500 alumni and their friends and relatives gathered on April 4 at the Library courtyard for the 2016 Alumni Reunion. In its 8th installment, the event aimed to reconnect graduates with their alma mater, and to encourage mutual support and interaction between the institution and its graduates.
Organized by QU Alumni Association (QUAA), the annual gathering is an opportunity to bring together friends, faculty and QU leaders to re-energize the spirit of pride, friendship, and loyalty and to remind alumni of their lasting connection with their alma mater.
QATAR will host the First Arab Voluntary University Students Forum in April. The forum is organised by Qatar University in coordination with the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The forum aims at promoting volunteer work among different student bodies. It is an opportunity to exchange expertise in the field. Some 200 students from across the globe are expected to take part in the forum.

Ooredoo Kuwait has announced the appointment of Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdullah bin Mohamed al-Thani as chief executive officer of the company.
Sheikh Mohamed holds a master’s degree in finance and accounting from the University of Cardiff, Wales in the UK and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Qatar University.
Qatar University (QU) and Qatar Shell recently hosted a joint panel discussion to highlight the important role women can play in “shaping Qatar’s future energy sector”.
The panel discussion held at QU was jointly organised by QU Alumni-College of Engineering chapter and Qatar Shell Women’s Network, and aimed at encouraging young Qatari women to consider an engineering career in Ras Laffan through the creation of a “networking and knowledge sharing” platform.
