About MEACR
The 11th annual meeting of the Middle-Eastern Association for Cancer Research (MEACR) will be held online as a virtual event on November 27, 2021. The meeting this year will be organized by the Health Cluster at Qatar University, Qatar Cancer Society and the Middle-Eastern Association for Cancer Research. We invite all researchers to join in, as this will be an excellent opportunity to initiate collaborative projects with cancer scientists from Qatar, the Middle East and overseas.
The Middle-Eastern Association for Cancer Research (MEACR) was established and officially registered in Montreal, Canada, in December 2009. The main objectives of the MEACR are to encourage the collaboration between cancer scientists within the Middle-East (ME) and North African region, as well as those working in North America, Europe, and other parts of the world; and to promote scientific education and the training of graduate students and young investigators in the ME and North African countries.
As a young association, the MEACR presently offers its members two main activities: it organizes an annual scientific meeting in a different country every year within the Middle East, in addition to the publication of a peer-reviewed scientific journal (Clinical Cancer Investigation Journal, CCIJ: www.ccij-online.org ) which was launched in December 2011. Future goals for the organization include fostering scientific knowledge in the ME via yearly workshop events and cancer research funding.
