Important Instructions for Returning to Campus

As per the decision of Qatar University to gradually resume face-to-face teaching on-campus in Fall 2021 starting Sunday, September 12, 2021, and as part of QU efforts to keep its community members especially its students healthy and safe while serving the public interest of students and the educational process, we would like to emphasize the following:

  • All students must wear facemasks inside the campus including classrooms.
  • Show the “EHTERAZ App” on their smart phones upon entry and ensure its QR code is green.
  • All Students who are most at risk of contracting COVID-19 and its complications (such as students with severe chronic diseases), as well as students who have or are suspected to have COVID-19, or in quarantine), are requested to submit the online exemption application. The application should be supported by authentic medical reports issued by Hamad Medical Corporation or the Primary Health Care Institution. The report should clearly identify their health status and specify the reasons for not attending on-campus classes.
  • The application for exemption from attending classes on campus starts on Sunday, 12 September, 2021 until Thursday, 23 September, 2021. Kindly note that exemption applications from students with newly reported health cases (such as students who have or are suspected to have COVID-19 or in quarantine) will be available throughout the Fall 2021 semester.   • Only students whose EHTERAZ health profile code is green will be allowed to enter the campus and university buildings. The student whose EHTERAZ profile code is other than green must apply for an exemption from attending on-campus classes.
  • The period of absence due to infection with the coronavirus (COVID-19) or due to quarantine after returning from travel, will be counted within the maximum limit allowed by the attendance and absence policy (25%), not in addition to it.
  • Until future notice is issued, note that the following Student Affairs departments and centers will continue providing their services and programs as per the below:
    • The Academic Advising Center will continue to provide its services online without interruption to all our students. There will be no face-to-face meetings with your academic advisor on campus. To know who is your assigned academic advisor in Banner, please follow the steps in the “How to Find Your Academic Advisor” guide. You can book an appointment with your academic advisor using the Appointment Manager. For more information, please visit the Academic Advising Center website, or contact them via email at
    • The Career Development Center will continue providing services to QU students remotely. Please contact the Center via email or by phone at 44033883.
    • The Student Learning Support Center continues to offer their online services including the “Najeh” Program, Academic Support and Writing and Language Support services in English and Arabic. Moreover, it offers several and numerous sets of electronic resources via Blackboard. For more information, you can contact the staff of the center by phone 44033870 or email.
    • The Student Counseling Center continues to provide individual support sessions online. You can contact the Center via email or by phone 44033755 or book an appointment with a counselor.
    • The Inclusion and Special Needs Center continue to offer its services online and students may contact the staff of the center for all required services via email or by phone:

  • The Financial Aid Section is receiving applications for financial aid during three periods according to the published deadlines on the financial aids website. All required documents are to be submitted online through Banner Self-Service. For more information, you can visit the website of the section.
  • Students may receive their textbooks by reserving an appointment through the Appointment Manager System, to receive personally from the University Textbooks Section on the assigned time. Also, students may request the delivery of their textbooks directly to their homes via Qatar Post. For more information, you can visit the website of the section. 
  • New admitted students may apply for their campus ID card by reserving an appointment through the Appointment Manager System and receive it based on available timings. Until they get their ID cards, they may be requested to show the Qatari ID in case they are asked to do so by Security Officers or Health and Safety Officers.
  • Self-service photocopying is available in a number of locations inside the QU campus. Please visit the Student Auxiliary Services website to know service locations.
  • Students may apply to lockers services and then book an appointment to collect the keys. You may ask for further information by email.
  • The Student Housing and Residential Life Department decided to allow students who have previously lived in student housing to return to Student Housing provided they adhere to all student housing procedures and instructions as well as any new university instructions related to COVID-19. The Student Housing and Residential Life Department reserves the right to request an immediate departure from student housing for those who violate any of these procedures and instructions. Rest assured that Qatar University will apply all precautionary or preventative measures that protect its students from coronavirus all over the campus (such as maintaining a safe distance between seats, wearing masks at all times, providing sterilizers in various buildings, and other precautionary measures).
