ALRC
In addition to the QU Main Library, DAUP students have access to the facilities and collections of the Architecture Learning Resource Center (ALRC), which is managed by a qualified specialist (Architecture Technician/Archivist). Launched in Fall 2013, the ALRC provides user-friendly informational resources and fosters interaction among and between faculty and students, including:
- A cutting‐edge selection of around 1,200 titles on the subjects of architecture, architectural design, history and theory, technology architectural sociology, urbanism, urban design, and urban planning.
- One principal computer station and two peripheral computers are accessible for the organization, day‐to‐day management, and availability of different documents and archives.
- Multi‐media materials including CDs/DVDs focusing on architectural design and subscriptions to major architectural magazines such as Architecture Today, Architecture Review, The Architect’s Journal, and Architectural Design.
- A large LED screen to the vision and present talks and presentations in the ALRC.
- Additional architectural databases, newsletters, magazines, and portfolios are available to students at the ALRC via the Main Library Online Catalogue.
The ALRC has implemented a shared folder system designed and arranged by the ALRC coordinator. This user-friendly digital platform includes several information resources such as the storing of major teaching, research, and other related academic work by faculty and student work according to years, class and course categories. Faculty and students have access to the material in these folders.
The ALRC collection is renewed periodically where new titles and magazines are added based on the demand and needs of the DAUP students and staff.
The QU Main Library also has a large collection of reference and data books integrated with a reference catalog to several resource libraries at institutions located in Education City and the new Qatar National Library in Al Ghanim, both of which are located in Doha.
