Accreditation
The Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) at Qatar University (QU) was established in 1980 with one undergraduate program and a few number of students. The department has grown to become at 2015-2016 around 431 undergraduate students and 53 graduate students enrolled in MSc and PhD in the Electrical Engineering Programs.
The Department of EE has adopted a systematic process for quality assurance applied to its programs. The department of EE has also moved through the required stages that lead to accreditation for its undergraduate program, according to the policies and procedures of the Engineering Accreditation Commission of Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). ABET accredits college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology through its various commissions which are highly recognized and internationally respected. ABET has set the higher-educational standards in its fields for nearly 75 years.
We are proud that Electrical Engineering Program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org. Accreditation ensures that the students, parents, employers, and the society we serve can be confident that a program meets the quality standards that produce graduates prepared to enter a global workforce.
