We are very proud of our track record of excellence in both teaching and research and we regard ourselves as a leading Department of Chemical Engineering for our size in the region. We have been growing steadily in recent years and contributing to the Qatari economy by supplying quality graduate chemical engineers to its booming chemical industry. Our department has developed a unique plant design team teaching experience with the tremendous support of local and international oil and gas companies. Our highly qualified faculty members are engaged in several high value outreach activities locally and regionally. The department of Chemical Engineering has been particularly successful in building research capacity over the past few years and secured on a competitive basis over 15 Million US Dollars of external research funding. Our faculty members research experience has been usefully extended to train our undergraduate students in research methods through the QNRF UREP funding scheme.
The department of Chemical Engineering leads and supports the new Master Program in Environmental Engineering and will shortly offer PhD studies opportunities in Chemical Engineering following the recent launch of a PhD degree in the College of Engineering at Qatar University, in association with University College London in the United Kingdom.
