Aga Khan Award for Architecture: Voices from Doha

Building on the recent Aga Khan Award Ceremony 2010 which took place at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha and the Seminar jointly organized with Qatar University on the Award projects back in November 2010, this event is part of Dohaland Chairs lecture series and is composed of two parallel outreach activities. The event will take place at the company's Knowledge Enrichment Centre. The exhibition which will open on January 12th and continue to January 18th 2011 will include 22 panels of contemporary architectural and urban interventions. On display there will be 19 shortlisted projects by the Award’s Master Jury, highlighting the plurality and diversity of current contributions to architecture and urbanism in the developing world. The seminar which will be held on January 12th 2011 from 5.30 PM to 9.00 PM will include five lecture presentations and discussions representing voices from Doha on the Award, its achievements, contributions to the discourse on architecture and urbanism, and the potential of projects within Qatar to receive future awards. The seminar includes five presentations, two of which are of Dohaland Chairs in Architecture at Qatar University, those are of Professor Ashraf M. Salama and Professor Tim makower.
