International Commercial Legislation: Trends and Perspectives
An international conference organized by: Qatar University College of Law, Ministry of Commerce, and Industry - State of Qatar in collaboration with the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).
CALL FOR PAPERS:
Qatar University, College of Law welcomes submissions for the peer-reviewed conference “International Commercial Legislation: Trends and Perspectives,” which will be organized in partnership with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and in collaboration with the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). The conference will be held on 19-20 November 2023 in Doha – Qatar. On that occasion, the College of Law will be celebrating with the United Nations the 41st anniversary of the adoption of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (“CISG”).
Papers may address any of the following indicative themes:
o The Role of UNCITRAL in the Harmonization of National Laws.
o The Impact of Model Laws and International Principles and Guidelines in Drafting National Laws, in particular:
o The Impact of the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration.
o The Impact of UNCITRAL texts on electronic commerce.
o New Trends in Small and Medium Enterprises.
o The Impact of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) on Private Transactions.
o The Broader Adoption and Use of the CISG in Arab Countries.
o Other related topics.
SUBMISSION:
o Abstracts must be written in one of the following languages: Arabic or English.
o An abstract of no more than 500 words and a CV should be submitted before 9 March 2023.
o Applicants will be notified if their abstracts are accepted before 22 March 2023.
o Abstracts and papers should be sent through the following E-mail by the title of “International Commercial Legislation”: law@qu.edu.qa
