“Meet the President”, an event in which QU students will participate in a dialogue session with QU President Prof Sheikha Abdulla Al-Misnad, will be held on March 31 at Ibn Khaldoon Hall.
The “Town Hall” meeting between Prof Al-Misnad and 100 students, is being organized by the Departments of Student Activities and External Relations.
The aim of the event is to start a tradition of dialogue between the President and students in an annual meeting to discuss university issues; to bring students closer to the leadership of the university; and to clarify what is accreditation and update students on ongoing progress.
Commenting on the event, Prof Al-Misnad said: “Accreditation is an important topic which is often misunderstood by students. Through this meeting we wanted to make sure our students both understand what accreditation is and feel that they are part of QU’s quest to achieve it. Our students are key partners in the success of this University and partners must communicate. It is through their commitment that Qatar University is where it stands today, and it is through their hard work that we will break new grounds and achievements”.
Vice President for Student Affairs Dr Omar Al-Ansari: “We hope to establish this meeting between the president and students as an annual tradition to improve two way communications between QU leadership and students. In addition, starting this year, the annual convocation at the beginning of each academic year will be open to all students providing an additional channel of communication.”
Acting Director of Student Activities Ms Wadad El-Husseiny stated: " This is an outstanding opportunity for students to know more and be involved in one of the most important processes in any higher education institution: accreditation. Students play the major role in such processes, and we want to make sure they are both well aware of and involved in the process”,
