Students, faculty, researchers to benefit from expertise
An MOU with Anti-Doping Laboratory Qatar (ADLQ) was signed on June 6 to further cooperate in areas including research, training and teaching.

The five-year agreement was signed by QU Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Dr Humaid Al-Midfaa on behalf of QU President Prof Sheikha Al-Misnad and ADLQ General Manager Dr Muhammed Alsayrafi, in the presence of senior faculty members and staff from both organizations.

The MoU promotes co-operation between faculty members and researchers of QU and the Anti-Doping Lab, particularly in terms of visits by and exchange of graduate and undergraduate students for training, study and research. It also covers visits by and exchange of staff for research, training, teaching and discussions; as well as joint research collaboration and joint academic activities between the two organizations.

Prof Al Misnad said: “This agreement brings together QU and Anti-Doping Lab Qatar – two centers of regional excellence – to share expertise for the benefit of Qatar and beyond.

“QU faculty and students will have the chance to work with some of the most advanced technology in the world and to learn practical skills which will play an important role in their careers as leading scientists and researchers. We look forward to working closely with the Anti-Doping Lab.”

Dr Alsayrafi said: “QU is the first university in Qatar and my university, I am proud to sign this MoU with QU today. This collaboration is in line with Qatar Vision 2030, specifically the Human Development pillar. This will definitely benefit both sides and the country as a whole. I am confident that we will be announcing the positive outcome of this collaboration soon. My sincere thanks go to Prof Al-Misnad for giving us this opportunity to work together.”
