11th Career Fair launched
The Career Services Center (CSC) launched on March 6 its 11th Career Fair, aiming at providing QU students with the opportunity to meet and interact with employers and representatives of companies to seek employment and training opportunities.
The 4-day event (March 6-9) featured around 71 information booths from government and private organizations. Students had the opportunity to interact with employers, and get an insight in the labor market’s needs and employers’ expectations as well as the various training services and internships they can follow to develop their skills, abilities, and professional experience.
The event was inaugurated by QU President Dr Hassan Al Derham in the presence of QU officials and students. It is open to QU male (March 6-7) and female (March 8-9) students.
In his remarks, Dr Hassan Al Derham said: “This annual event provides QU students and alumni with the opportunity to interact with the representatives of local institutions in order to help them choose the institution in which they want to train and find appropriate career opportunities. The event drew a remarkable presence of many organizations in the government and private sectors. We, at QU, are keen to provide students with training opportunities that help them uplift their skills and competencies and build their future career.”
CSC Director Maha Al Marri said: “The event highlights QU’s commitment to provide the local labor market with highly qualified graduates. CSC offers various services that prepare QU students to join the labor market after graduation. We hope that this annual event helps our students to fulfill their professional goals.”
QU College of Business and Economics (CBE) student and volunteer Refaa Al Qahtani said: “This is the fourth time that I participate in this event as a volunteer. I have benefited from this experience by developing my time-management and teamwork skills.”
