The Early Childhood Center of Qatar University's (QU) College of Education (CED) organizes its 14th festival to mark World Children's Day, yesterday under the theme “Color with Hope.” The festival featured a variety of artistic, kinetic, rhythmic and scientific activities for children with the aim of encouraging children to be creative, develop their imaginations and provide a spirit of teamwork.

The event was attended by 160 of the children enrolled at the center, at Rashad Kindergarten Model Independent School for Boys and Qatar–Finland International School, as well as a number of institutions that collaborated on this event with the center such as: Armed Forces Music Battalion Unit (Ministry of Defence), Visual Art Center, Awsaj Academy, The Special Education Training Center at Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Rumailah Hospital, IAID Academy Qatar and Best Buddies Qatar. In addition, the event was attended by a large number of VIPs from the center, QU and other honorable guests from early childhood institutions across Qatar.

QU’s CED and the Early Childhood Center are keen to build the future of the State of Qatar starting with the advancement of children and their psychological health and their early preparation to become future leaders, able to serve their nation.

The center involved many educational institutions in this festival, in order to activate its role in building bridges and creating partnerships between kindergartens and other children institutions across the country. Educational institutions play a vital role in promoting the arts with children from an early age. Together, the organizers provided young students with the opportunity to express their creativity in various ways, such as painting, music, dance, acting, science and much more, in line with the event theme.

The Early Childhood Center provides a model demonstration and training site for early childhood education with research opportunities to further enhance knowledge of early development, education and quality care for young children. The United Nations' (UN) Universal Children's Day, which was established in 1954, is celebrated on 20 November each year to promote international togetherness and awareness among children worldwide.
