CENG Welcomes New Graduate Students for the Fall 2019 Programs

In a recent orientation event for Graduate Programs, CENG has welcomed newly admitted students for the PhD and Masters engineering programs. The event provided an opportunity for the College to orient the new students on the enrollment requirements, and registration procedures. Students met with programs supervisors to get aware of programs plans and the appropriate sequence of courses that they should follow.

The college has accepted 146 applicants, a total of 102 Master students and 44 PhD students.

Commenting on the event, CENG Dean Dr. Khalid Kamal Naji said, “Graduate students guide the development process in their fields, and they are responsible to change future ideologies and processes in work and life. During their journey in QU, the students need to make the best use of their time to invest in the graduate programs they are enrolled in.”

Dr. Naji highlighted that the large number of students accepted to the degree programs is due to the quality of CENG programs that is highly-recognized by the industry, and the expertise of the well-qualified faculty from all over the world.

“This increase in the graduate students number responds to the industrial partner’s high demand for highly qualified engineering graduates in all engineering fields who will be responsible to mentor the development and booming progress that Qatar is witnessing nowadays” he added.

The new students joined the Masters programs in Computing, Urban Planning & Design, Engineering Management, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering, and the programs offered under the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Engineering -- Architecture, Urban Planning, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management, Environmental Engineering, Material Science and Engineering.
