QU-CENG hosts ATF Training for F-gas Certification

Qatar University’s College of Engineering (QU-CENG) hosted ATF Training for F-gas Certification. In collaboration between (QU-CENG), Ozone unit of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment MME and ATF (Italy). The event was sponsored by the Environment Protection Programme of the United Nations
Eng. Abdul-Rahman Al-Abd Al-Jabbar, Director of the Radiation Protection and Chemicals Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment said, "This training program aims to train technical personnel in the field of air conditioning and refrigeration to become professional in this field to be certified trainers in the areas of air conditioning and refrigeration sector."
“Training comes in line with the United Nations programme for Protection of Environment and proper use of F-Gas in the refrigeration industry”, he added.
Mrs Muna Al Emadi, Head of Dangerous Equipment Section said “Present at the training were professional representatives from QU-CENG, Marafeq, Qatar Cool, Aspire, CNA and other entities.”
In his comment, Professor Saud Ghani at QU-CENG Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering said “The training is indeed an important step to this region which heavily depends on controlled environment as well as refrigerated transport of perishables”.
“I am pleased that the college of engineering together with the MME ministry are facilitating this professional training so that the State of Qatar will meet its obligations as signed in the Kyoto and Kigali Protocols regarding the use and handling of the refrigerants”, he added.
