(QU-CPH) concludes the Academic year with a Virtual End of Year Gathering

Qatar University College of Pharmacy (QU-CPH) concluded the Academic Year 2019/2020 with its Annual End of Year Gathering in collaboration with QU Information Technology Services Department.
Despite all challenges, the event was held successfully through the WebEx platform with more than 150 attendees from the College of Pharmacy faculty, staff and students from the different professional years. This event is organized on an annual basis to celebrate the College achievements and to congratulate the students for their excellence.
The event started with opening remarks by the CPH Assistant Dean for Students Affairs Dr. Alla El-Awaisi followed by welcoming remarks by the CPH Dean Dr. Mohammad Diab and the head of departments. The program agenda featured participations from each batch where the AY19 was summed in Glance through short student videos. The program also included hats off for 2020 graduates, professor acknowledgment by the graduating batch and interactive game. The event was concluded with a group photo and closing remarks.
Commenting on this event, CPH Dean Dr. Mohammad Diab said: “We are very glad that we were able to conduct our annual end of year gathering virtually. This has definitely been a challenging year and to end it up by this gathering is very rewarding. The amount of efforts put by faculty, staff and students this semester is indescribable, the efforts that have been exerted to ensure all that work has been done efficiently is fantastic. Thank you to all CPH family for their hard work, many thanks to those who have executed the event virtually, great work, and special thanks to all those who have joined our family gathering.”
QU CPH Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Dr. Alla El-Awaisi added, “The theme of this year’s event summed up this semester ‘when the impossible became possible’. The way everyone students, staff and faculty have adapted to online learning/ teaching/ working is remarkable and all have all demonstrated brilliant resilience and responsibility. Not a surprise by our amazing CPH family. Congratulation to all students for completing their academic year successfully. We at the College of Pharmacy are really proud of you all and wish you continued success and we are certain you will successful leaders and overcome the many challenges you will face as you are well equipped to be agent for change in advancing the pharmacy profession.”
Qatar Pharmacy Undergraduate Society President and CPH Third professional year student, Ms. Hend Al-Naimi said: “Every year we look forward to the CPH end of the year gathering, it is a room for us students, faculty and administrators to gather and share all what we have done during the academic year. Due to COVID-19, we couldn’t gather as usual; the gathering was virtual. However, it was a successful and a unique event, in terms of the interaction, activities and attendance. A great initiative from the college to end the year and celebrate our success even though we couldn’t meet as usual. I am really impressed with this event, it encouraged us to consider doing more activities virtually during the summer.”
CPH First year student and class representative Ms. Marwa Elshazly added: “End of year gathering was nothing but a family gathering and the special thanks go to CPH that made incredible efforts to bring us, doctors, administrators and students all together again on one platform. When we talk about our virtual gathering, we shall mention the enthusiastic talks, the powerful speeches, the hopeful preaching and the joyful time that certainly made the event the most memorable. Sending my warmest congrats to all the graduating students and to everyone for passing this harsh phase.”
