QU College of Pharmacy Students Honored on the 10th Annual Dean's List Ceremony

Qatar University College of Pharmacy (QU-CPH) recognized 117 of its highest achieving students for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters by hosting the 10th Annual Dean’s List ceremony which honored their achievements. The ceremony acknowledged the efforts of General pharmacy and pharmacy students who made it onto the Dean’s List, by achieving a GPA of 3.5 or above. The ceremony was held virtually and streamed live on Qatar University YouTube.

Professional Year 2 pharmacy student Kaoutar Barakat was the Master of Ceremony and welcomed the guests with opening remarks. This was followed by welcoming remarks from QU-CPH Dean Dr. Feras Alali. Research Specialist and QU_CPH MSc graduate Ms. Sawsan Al Mukdad was the guest speaker at the event. CPH administrators, faculty, and staff then provided congratulations messages to the students. The announcement of students on the Dean’s List was displayed followed by messages of support from parents and students.

Dr. Feras Alali gave commented, “The Dean’s List is an institutional recognition of our students’ hard work. I am especially proud of the students honored this year as they were not deterred by the pandemic pressing circumstances and hardships but they put exceptional efforts to be in the elite class of achievers.”

QU-CPH Assistant Dean for Students Affairs Dr. Alla El-Awaisi commented, “Sincere congratulations to the students who made it to the Dean’s list, we are very proud of your achievements. We at the College of Pharmacy are continuously working hard to create an environment for the student to excel and thrive in many aspects of their student life in order to graduate students who are well rounded and are able to make an impact during their journey with us and later on in their careers.”

Ms Sawsan Al Mukdad commented, “I was delighted to attend the 10th Annual Dean’s List Ceremony. We witnessed the celebration of promising and distinguished future pharmacists who worked diligently to acquire academic excellence. It was clear that they were able to set their priorities, focus on their goals, and turn them into practical plans and steps. This academic excellence could not be achieved without the continuous support from the College of Pharmacy which was always keen to provide students with exceptional educational experience. Congratulations to all of the students who were named to the Dean’s List.”

QU-CPH PharmD student Moumena Haddad who received her 10th pin commented saying, “Having the 10th pin of the Dean’s list at the end of my BSc journey in Pharmacy reminds me of the quote: “No pain, No gain.” Behind this gain is a lot of daily efforts, sacrifices, and continuous support from my great mother, father, and instructors. This gain also represents the start of my new step in my Pharmacy career where my next gain will be when my academic level is reflected in the excellence in my clinical practice and near future career inshallah.”

QU-CPH Professional Year 1 pharmacy student Mohamed Elsayed who opened the ceremony with a recitation from the Qur’an at the ceremony said, “I am honored to be a part of this year Dean’s list; words cannot describe my feelings towards this great achievement. I want to take this opportunity to thank my family, friends, and our supportive faculty members who played a significant role in making this happen.”
