Qatar University (QU) Arabic Language department marked World Arabic Language Day to raise importance of Arabic language.

Arabic Language has a historic role in creating and transmitting knowledge. In this context, we reviewed QU professors to shed light on the role of Arabic Language.

Dr. Haya Al-Derhim, Assistant Professor of Arabic Language said, “Arabic is the first world language. It is the Qur'an language which includes knowledge, revelation, stories, laws, and lessons that no human being can understand until he knows Arabic language. From here comes the first and most possible evidence of its universality.”

Dr. Rami Abu Shehab, Lecturer of Arabic Language, said, “Language reflects the true meaning of civilization, and the values behind it. Language bears the shadows of human: dreams, anxieties and their fears, as well as their accomplishments, and anything outside of language would not exist.”

Abdelhamid Zahid, Professor of Arabic Language mention that the time has come for the Arab community to look at its language with optimism. This optimism depends on creating the horizon of hope that emerges from our universities. It is a symbol of renewal and construction of the structure of the civilizational glory of this language.
