QU hosts Youth Centers Forum 2018

Collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Sports

The Minister of Culture and Sports H.E. Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser al-Ali honored the inauguration of the Youth Centers Forum 2018 on April 3.

Organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the forum aims to provide youth with the opportunity to showcase their innovative projects and to engage them in social service. It also aims to offer a platform to the participants to exchange their ideas and expertise and to get insight into the programs and projects presented by youth.

H.E. Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser al-Ali was joined by QU President Dr Hassan Al Derham, QU VP for Student Affairs Dr Khalid Al-Khanji, and QU Director of Student Services & Activities Mr Abdulla Al-Yafei, as well as QU officials, faculty, staff and students.

The event features various activities and programs provided by youth centers. It includes 18 workshops for females (April 3-4) and for males (April 5).

The first day of the event featured a workshop on mind games presented by Ladies Alkaaban, a workshop on creative writing presented by Alreyada Girls Center, and writing on candles by Alwakra Girls Center.

Commenting on the event, Dr Khalid Al-Khanji said: “The Youth Centers Forum 2018 aims to raise the awareness of young students about the importance of youth centers and their role in developing the society. Through hosting and organizing this event, Qatar University demonstrates its commitment to build young talents, engage young students in volunteering activities and encourage them to innovate and take new initiatives.”

Activities and Youth Events Director at the Ministry of Culture and Sports Mr Abdul Rahman bin Mohamed al-Hajri said: “The Youth Centers Forum serves to strengthen links between the Ministry of Culture and Sports and Qatar University and to brief students about the activities provided by the youth centers to their members. Students will have the opportunity to get insight into the goals and services of each center, and to participate in various training sessions provided by the centers.”
