Qatar University accepts 3,700 students for Fall 2020


Qatar University’s (QU) Admission Department announced the university has accepted 3,700 students for the 2020 Fall semester, indicating the acceptance of all Qatari students who submitted and met the accepted admission criteria at the university.
The Admission Department explained that the number of students who applied for admission to Qatar University this semester were noteworthy compared to previous years, which contributed to the colleges reaching the maximum capacity.
The Admissions Department said that all accepted Qatari applicants who met the admission requirements were admitted to Qatar University, noting that applications for admission varied to include new students, transferred students and applicants targeting a second bachelor’s degree.
The students who did not have an opportunity to be admitted into the fall 2020 semester can apply for admission for the next semester, Spring 2021.
Commenting on the occasion, Fatima Al-Mohannadi, Acting Director of Scholarship and Capacity Building at Vice President for Academic Affairs Office said: “The electronic introductory meeting will be held for new and transferred students starting from August 9-13.The meeting aims to facilitate time and effort for new students to communicate and provide them needful information. The link of the meeting will be sent through email. This meeting will include university polices and regulations, students will be given instructions on how to register themselves to new semester 2020. In addition they will learn about the academic counseling services, student learning support services and all other services provided by university.”
The fall semester 2020 will start on Sunday, August 16 according the academic calendar, students will continue distance learning until the end of third stage of lifting restrictions. University will announce when the students will start coming to campus in usual way, which is expected to start when we enter fourth stage, with the exception of some of the students with chronic disease and pregnant women and this exception remains in effect until the state announces that they can return to school.
