Qatar is currently facing a period of unprecedented economic growth, placing the country on the world stage with developed countries. Coupled with its success in bringing the FIFA World Cup to Doha in 2022 and Qatar’s bid for the 2020 Olympic games, there is a great deal of social excitement in the air. Qatar University (QU), the only national institution of higher education, is experiencing its own share of excitement by providing the best education to national and international students.
QU plans to share in the success of these major projects and align itself with the Qatar National Vision of 2030, which considers education as one of its forefront objectives and states that “education is one of the basic pillars of social progress. The state shall ensure, foster and endeavor to spread it.” In order to meet this objective and build on its reputation of rigorous undergraduate programs, QU has recently embarked on the invigorating challenge of designing unsurpassed graduate programs in various disciplines.
Here at QU, we have great confidence in our infrastructure, which is based on an energetic faculty eager to promote outside-the-box thinking. We are readily capable of developing our graduate programs and students to be competitive worldwide. Furthermore, our graduate programs are interdisciplinary in nature, in order to best serve our students and prepare them to be active contributors upon graduation. The university is proud that our curricula will prepare our graduate students to handle the latest technologies, all the while observing the highest standards of professionalism and ethical values. QU enjoys a uniquely diverse student body that will contribute, through this diversity, to increasing competitiveness. In addition, we strive to have our graduate programs receive proper recognition by international accreditation agencies as well as being a member of the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS).
If you are interested in taking advantage of these excellent opportunities, we invite you to take a tour of our website. It was designed to provide you with the information necessary to enable you to learn more about our different graduate programs, the application process, sources of funding, sponsored events, and other opportunities available throughout the university. It also provides useful information to currently enrolled students as well as those still considering joining the QU community.
The Office of Graduate Studies is here to help you in your pursuit of a well-rounded graduate education that will prepare you to meet future challenges. We encourage you to take advantage of the orientations, support programs, and other opportunities provided by the colleges for engagement with the community and with your profession.
