The College of Pharmacy is the first and only pharmacy degree program in the State of Qatar. The College offers 5-years BSc (Pharmacy), 6-years Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and 2-years MSc (Pharm) degree programs. Our program is the first international program to be accredited by the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) and partners with local and international education and health care institutions to support its academic and research mandates. As a new College and the first of its kind in this country, we are undergoing constant change as we strive to achieve excellence while meeting our mandate, to provide its graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to become competent pharmacists, to meet the health care needs of this society. The vision of the College is to be the leading pharmacy college in the Middle East region.

1. Professor (Asst/Assoc) - Clinical Pharmacy and Practice (2 positions)

These are full-time professorial positions in the clinical pharmacy and practice specialty with a cross-appointment to a health care delivery organization within Qatar. As for all professorial positions within the college, these positions are responsible for scholarly activity, teaching and academic service. Professional services to the partnering organization is also expected.  Qatar University will be the primary employer and these positions are candidates for academic promotion in accordance with university policy.

For these positions, we are seeking individuals with an earned Doctor of Pharmacy (or equivalent degree) from an accredited school or college of pharmacy.   The ideal candidates will also possess post-PharmD residency training qualifications.  The successful applicants will have had at least two years of clinical experience in a relevant clinical specialty with documented accomplishments in teaching, research and service at a level expected for a professorial position within the clinical pharmacy and practice section of the college.  Applications are accepted immediately and hiring will occur over the September 2010 - September 2011 period or until all positions are filled.

2. Professor (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) - Pharmaceutics

The College of Pharmacy, Qatar University invites applications for a full time faculty position at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level beginning September 2014. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.

Minimum requirements include a PhD (Pharmaceutics) degree with an appropriate research background and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidates with a professional degree in pharmacy and demonstrated excellence in teaching and research are preferred.

The successful candidate will teach and coordinate courses in pharmaceutics in both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

The candidate must have a strong research record commensurate with the rank sought as evidenced by publication in reputable peer-reviewed international journals. The successful candidate will establish an active independent research program that incorporates undergraduate and graduate research training and complements the existing research strengths of the College of Pharmacy, Qatar University.

4. Professor (Assistant/Associate Professor) - Clinical Pharmacy and Practice (Assessment) 

This is a full-time professorial position in the clinical pharmacy and practice section with additional responsibility of management, assessment and quality improvement activities for the undergraduate pharmacy program. The purpose of this position is to develop, implement and maintain viable program evaluation and assessment tools for the College’s undergraduate pharmacy program. As for all professorial positions within the college, these positions are responsible for scholarly activity, teaching and academic/professional service

5. Professor (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) - Full Time Physician

This position is a full time position in the Clinical Pharmacy and Practice section. As for all professorial positions within the college, the candidate is expected to be actively involved in developing, coordinating, teaching and evaluating courses within BSc, MSc and PharmD curriculum and to be actively engaged in the conduct of research in their respective specialty in addition to academic service. Courses include: Patient Assessment Courses, Professional Skills, Pathophysiology and other courses.

For this position, we are seeking individuals with medical doctoral degree (MD with or without a PhD) from an accredited school or college of medicine. Applicants should have documented accomplishments in teaching, research and service at a level expected for a professorial position within the clinical pharmacy and practice section of the college. 6. Clinical Lecturer - Clinical Pharmacy and Practice

The clinical lecturer position is a full time position in the Clinical Pharmacy and Practice section. As for all academic positions in the college, the successful candidate in this position is expected to be actively involved in undergraduate and graduate course coordination, instruction and evaluation in addition to academic service.

For this position, we are seeking individuals with MSc or a higher degree in clinical pharmacy or pharmacy practice from an accredited school or college of pharmacy. The successful applicants should have demonstrated excellence in teaching in addition to experience with course management, lecture delivery and related software.
