The College of Pharmacy is continuing to grow.  As such, we are continuously seeking excellent candidates for academic, academic supporting and staff positions.  Qualified individuals who wish to be considered as a potential member of a new academic team and to be involved in the design, implementation and evaluation of a progressive pharmacy degree program are encouraged to register their application for current and future positions.  Joining our program represents a rare opportunity to share in the early development of the only pharmacy school in this exciting and progressive country.

Successful faculty applicants are expected to be actively involved in the delivery of our BSc(Pharm) degree program, our PharmD degree program (first enrolment in 2011) and newly approved MSc (Pharm) program (first enrolment in 2011).  Details of these programs can be found under Academic Degree Programs.  Professorial positions are also expected to be actively engaged in the conduct of innovative trans-disciplinary research in their respective area(s) of specialty.

A. POSITIONS CURRENTLY OPEN

1. Professor (Asst/Assoc) - Clinical Pharmacy and Practice (2 positions)

These are full-time professorial positions in the clinical pharmacy and practice specialty with a cross-appointment to a health care delivery organization within Qatar. As for all professorial positions within the college, these positions are responsible for scholarly activity, teaching and academic service. Professional services to the partnering organization is also expected.  Qatar University will be the primary employer and these positions are candidates for academic promotion in accordance with university policy.

For these positions, we are seeking individuals with an earned Doctor of Pharmacy (or equivalent degree) from an accredited school or college of pharmacy.   The ideal candidates will also possess post-PharmD residency training qualifications.  The successful applicants will have had at least two years of clinical experience in a relevant clinical specialty with documented accomplishments in teaching, research and service at a level expected for a professorial position within the clinical pharmacy and practice section of the college.  Applications are accepted immediately and hiring will occur over the September 2010 - September 2011 period or until all positions are filled.

2. Professor (Asst/Assoc) - Pharmaceutical Sciences

This full-time position is in the pharmaceutical sciences specialty. Applicants should possess a doctoral degree (PhD in a Pharmaceutical Sciences); have demonstrated expertise in the relevant area of specialization and a track record of scholarly activities. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an active research program, coordinate courses and participate in the training and supervision of our students, in accordance with our academic bylaws.
