The Office of the President announces the acceptance of resignation of Professor Peter Jewesson for personal reasons, after an extraordinary tenure of six years as the Dean of the College of Pharmacy.  During these six years Prof. Peter has laid the foundation and built the first accredited College of Pharmacy not only in Qatar but also in the GCC region. Dean Jewesson is a recognized leader in the field of Pharmacy, who joined Qatar University back in 2006, to start the first pharmacy program in this country.    

During the past six years, he and his team have transformed a small program into a College, implemented three degree programs (BSc (Pharm), MSc (Pharm), Doctor of Pharmacy), assembled and mentored a team of talented and committed faculty and staff, attracted highly motivated and intellectually capable students, and established strong partnerships with local and international affiliates.  Under his leadership, the program has achieved international accreditation and recognition for quality, innovation and many successes.   Professor Jewesson has worked tirelessly to graduate young professionals and license them to practice their profession worldwide. Dean Jewesson's passion and dedication for his profession, his faculty, staff and his students was evident and demonstrated on a daily basis.  We take this opportunity to thank and acknowledge the exceptional and remarkable progress that Prof. Jewesson has achieved in this short span of time and made Qatar University’s College of Pharmacy a shining example of excellence.

With effect from August 26, 2012 when Prof. Peter Jewesson steps down, Prof. Sherief Khalifa will be appointed as Acting Dean of the College of Pharmacy.
