Terms and Conditions



Conditions to maintain QU scholarships


Student must achieve a number of conditions in order to maintain the following scholarships:

  • Islamic countries and other countries Scholarship.
  • Academic Excellence Scholarship.
  • Outstanding performance Scholarship.

Students Registered in the Foundation Program

  1. Complete the Foundation Program in 2 semesters only.
  2. GPA during the Foundation Program is not counted.
  3. If the student did not pass the Foundation Program in 2 semesters:
    1. Internal Scholarship: the scholarship will be stopped; the student can continue studying at Qatar University but has to pay full tuition fees on his own.
    2. External Scholarship: the scholarship will be stopped; student's residency will be canceled and the student will be given a one way ticket to go back to his country, as long as Qatar University is his sponsor.

Students Registered in the Undergraduate Program


After completing the Foundation Program, either because the student is exempted from the Foundation Program or if the student finishes the Foundation Program in 2 semesters as requested above, the following conditions must be fulfilled:

  1. Must finish 15 credit hours in each semester.
  2. Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 out of 4.
  3. If the student does not fulfill either of the 2 conditions above, the student will receive a Scholarship Warning.
  4. If a student receives 2 Scholarship Warnings:
    1. Internal Scholarship: the scholarship will be stopped; and the student can continue studying at Qatar University but has to pay full tuition fees on his own.
    2. External Scholarship: the scholarship will be stopped; student's residency will be canceled and the student will be given a one way ticket to go back to his country, as long as Qatar University is his sponsor.
  5. The maximum number of semesters possible for the student to retain a scholarship is the proposed duration of the academic program that he is studying at. This is based on the program graduation requirements. This is in addition to the number of semesters spent in the Foundation Program. This does not include the maximum period of semesters the student did withdraw or drop from due to acceptable excuse.
  6. After the student's scholarship has been canceled, student will not be eligible to receive that scholarship again, regardless of whether the situation is amended.
