All applicants who are currently attending or have previously attended another university and passed Qatar University's requirements and conditions are considered transfer applicants and may apply for transfer admission to Qatar University. Transfer credit may only be considered if the applicant is admitted as a Transfer student. Transfer applicants may apply for either Fall or Spring semesters and are eligible for undergraduate admission only.
Transfer to Qatar University Requirements
- Earned a General Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent.
- Have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours AND attended a minimum of two semesters (Fall and Spring) of undergraduate coursework with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 out of 4.00 at a university accredited by an international accrediting association or by the Ministry of Higher Education or equivalent authority in that country.
- Satisfy Qatar University's English competency requirements by satisfying either of the following:
- Submit official English test score reports taken within the last two years.
- Completed a minimum of 24 credit hours and two semesters at an institution of higher education where English was the medium of instruction. Official statement proving this must be submitted at the time of application in order for exemption to be considered.
Applicants who do not satisfy these competency requirements are not eligible for Foundation Program admission. - Met Qatar University's Mathematics competency requirements. Applicants who do not satisfy these competency requirements are not eligible for Foundation Program admission.
- Applicants who were subject to disciplinary action or non-academic dismissal at a prior university/college may not apply or enroll as a transfer student.
- Submitted required documents before the admission deadline.
Required Documents Checklist
Important Notes:
- Students have to upload passport size photograph and Photocopy of the applicant's valid Qatar ID card (Non-Qatari applicants must also upload a copy of their passport) through the online admission application by the admission deadline.
- Students have to submit Official, final, and certified University transcript to Qatar University before the deadline by the following timing and locations:
- Male: Male Activity Building (B02) first floor, from Sunday to Thursday, 10am to 1 pm.
- Female: Admission and Enrollment Building (C12), Ground floor, from Sunday to Thursday, 10am to 1 pm.
- Due to the current circumstance, you do not have to submit the medical health certificate at this time. You will be requested to submit it at a later time.
- Submit an Online Admissions Application with an e-payment of QR 200
- Final, official and certified university transcript
- Health Certificate
- Photocopy of the applicant's Qatar ID card.
- Non-Qatari applicants must also provide a copy of their passport; international students please refer to International Students website.
- Non-Qatari applicants with Qatari parents must also provide a photocopy of the applicant's parent Qatar ID card and Birth certificate and Non Qatari female students married to Qatari Nationals must also provide the marriage contract and a copy of the ID card of the husband.
- Two (2) recent identical passport size photographs (size 4 x 6 cm) with white background
- Official test score reports for applicants to Colleges that require Foundation Program ( if available) to be submitted to the Foundation Program Testing Center in order to be exempted from the Foundation Program.
- International students who do not hold a valid State of Qatar residence permit (excluding GCC citizens) are not eligible for QU admission consideration. It is crucial that international student who is interested to enroll at QU to have a valid Qatari residence permit. Qatar University International Student Section assists students to get a student visa (Qatar Residence Permit). Those interested students should Apply Online for the student visa and upload the Required Documents during the same timeline of QU admission. Applicants who fail to satisfy the requirements for a student visa will not be considered for Qatar University admission.
Transfer of Credits Criteria
Transfer credit may be considered for evaluation after passing the following criteria:
- Applicant has submitted the following required documents for transfer credits:
- Final, official and certified University transcript
- Detailed course syllabus stamped from the Registrar's office or the department offering the course in the student's university (Syllabus Sample (pdf)). If the aforementioned documents are submitted by Thursday, December 3, 2020, applicants’ prior university coursework will be evaluated for possible transfer credit before the New Student Orientation Days. Received documents after this deadline will be evaluated for possible transfer credit during the semester.
- A minimum grade of C is needed for any credit hours submitted for transfer credit evaluation, and must have been completed within the last five years.
- A maximum of 50% of required credit hours for the submitted program may be considered for transfer credit evaluation; the colleges will individually determine the exact number of credit hours that may be transferred and applied towards their specific degree programs.
- Grades and quality points earned in courses accepted for transfer will not be included in the grade point average to be maintained at Qatar University, but the credits will count toward the total number required for graduation.
Under a special articulation agreement, students who have completed an advanced diploma degree from the College of the North Atlantic - Qatar (CNA-Q) are eligible to seek transfer admission to a select number of Qatar University degree programs.
Transfer to Qatar University Requirements
- To be considered for admission to Qatar University under the articulation agreement, transfer applicants must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 in any of the following CNA-Q advanced diploma degree programs:
- Business Management (Accounting)
- Business Management (Human Resource Management)
- Business Management (Marketing)
- Electrical Engineering Technology power controls
- Mechanical Engineering Technology
- Instrumentation Engineering Technology
- Telecommunication Engineering Technology
- Internet Applications Developer
- Programmer Analyst (Business)
- Computer Support Specialist
- Submitted required documents before the admission deadline.

Students who are currently studying or who have completed a diploma from Community College of Qatar (CCQ), and passed Qatar University requirements and conditions are considered transfer applicants and may apply for transfer admission to Qatar University. Transfer applicants may apply for either Fall or Spring semesters.
Transfer Requirements for Graduates from CCQ
- Successfully completed either an Associate in Arts (AA) or Associate in Science (AS) degree from CCQ.
- Have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours of undergraduate coursework from CCQ with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50/4.00.
- Only CCQ graduates with an AS degree are eligible for Science-based majors at Qatar University.
- Submitted required documents before admission deadline.
Transfer Requirements for Non-Graduates from CCQ
- Have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours of undergraduate coursework with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50/4.00 at CCQ.
- Met Qatar University's English and Mathematics competency requirements.
- Applicants who were subject to disciplinary action or non-academic dismissal at a prior university/college may not apply or enroll as a transfer student.
- Submitted required documents before admission deadline.

All transfer applicants from CCQ are required to submit the following documents to the QU Admissions Department:

- Official test score reports (for non-AA and AS graduates only)
- Health Certificate
- Photocopy of the applicant's Qatar ID card. (Non-Qatari applicants should also provide a copy of their passport)
- Two (2) recent identical passport size photographs (size 4 x 6 cm) with white background
