As the national institution for post-secondary education, Qatar University offers staff designated to assist students with special needs throughout their time at the university. The students are provided with appropriate services regarding their individual needs.
Our services offer quality care and compatibility with individual cases. These services are based on a thorough study of available technologies and keep abreast of the latest scientific developments in this area. One of the most prominent services provided is the "Resource Room" that is equipped with modern technical equipment. This room provides many services such as:
- Round Table, for tutoring and exams.
- Around 100 Braille Books in each campus, including the Holy Qur'an, dictionaries, grammar books, etc...
- Medical mattress.
- Training courses in mobility.
- Computers that are provided with Screen Reader Program.
- Recorder, for taping the text books on cassettes and CDs.
- Braille Printer.
- Convert writing from Braille to normal print and vice-versa by using special machine.
- CCTV Machine, for students with low vision.
- Provide the appropriate support in doing their researches, assignments, and exams such as, providing some body as a reader.
- Computers.
- All-in-one Machine (printer, scanner, photocopier, and fax).
- MP3 (Flash Memory + Recorder + Radio).
- Wheelchair, for urgent cases.
- Offer consulting services.
- Working cooperatively with students and instructors to provide the appropriate support.
- Set of chairs.
- Provide “Entertainment Unit”. It includes many games for students with special needs such as, UNO Cards that are written on them in Braille, Domino.
