“QSBD” is an educational project offered at the Biomedical Research Center at Qatar University in collaboration with Al-Gannas Qatari Society at Katara Cultural Village and the Equine Veterinary Medical Center. The project aims to direct the interest of Qatari male students towards the career of science and presents new advancements in biological diversity in Qatar. The project credits the participating students between 30 – 145 hours of community service depending on their competency level.

Objectives

  • Promote science for young male students in an interactive and fun environment.

  • The offered project plans to direct the Qatari students’ interest towards the career of science through multi-tracks research internships, field applications, and hand-on demonstration at the research facilities in the BRC.

  • The students will have the opportunity to participate in basic research, learn about effective scientific communication, and develop critical ethical and scientific thinking.
