    Accounting Program



    Accounting Major

    Accounting majors earn the degree of Bachelor of Business and Economics with an accounting major. They may select minors in Finance, MIS, or no minor. The requirements for the accounting major include 24 credit hours of specific accounting courses. In addition to Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting, students may take the following courses:

    Accounting Major required Courses (15 hours) :

    • ACCT 221:  Intermediate Accounting I.
    • ACCT 222:  Intermediate Accounting II.
    • ACCT 331:  Cost & Management Accounting.
    • ACCT 333:  Auditing I.
    • ACCT 424:  Accounting information System

    Accounting Major Elective Courses (9 hours) :

    • ACCT 411:  Government Accounting.
    • ACCT 413: Auditing II.
    • ACCT 418: Advanced Accounting.
    • ACCT 419: Internal Audit I.
    • ACCT 424: Internnational Accounting.
    • ACCT 428: Financial Statements Analysis.

    Accounting Minor 

    Accounting Minors must complete 15 credit hours of specific Accounting courses including 4 required courses and 1 elective course. In addition to Financial Accounting and managerial Accounting, students must take the following courses:

     Accounting Minor required Courses (12 hours) :

    • ACCT 221: Intermediate Accounting I.
    • ACCT 222: Intermediate Accounting II.
    • ACCT 331: Cost & Management Accounting.
    • ACCT 333: Auditing I.

     Accounting Minor Elective Courses (3 hours) :

    • ACCT 411: Government Accounting.
    • ACCT 413: Auditing II.
    • ACCT 418: Advanced Accounting.
    • ACCT 419: Internal Audit I.
    • ACCT 421: Accounting Information Systems.
    • ACCT 424: International Accounting.
    • ACCT 428: Financial Statement Analysis.
