With the participation of more than 15 students from QU, they were divided into five teams. This tournament was held remotely in line with the precautionary measures and to maintain the safety of the participants.

Throughout the academic year, QatarDebate held training workshops for all those interested in the field of debates, and the establishment of the first and second leagues enhanced the skills of the debaters and gave them good experience to get to know the atmosphere of competitions, understand the debate and analyze arguments correctly.
It was announced to club members via e-mail and on social networking sites that registration was open for the tournament, then the names of the participating teams were announced to encourage and support them before the tournament started.

The results were promising, and Qatar University has always climbed on the podiums in these tournaments. At the level of teams, the fourth team from Qatar University represented by (Abdullah Mahran - Kinan Al-Qassab - Ahmed Mustafa) managed to grab the third place as the best team in the national championship.

As for the speaker centers, 5 out of 10 winners were students of the Debating Club at Qatar University, these winners include; Kinan Al-Qassab and Safaa Jaber (Second place), Muhammad Zia (4th place), Hadeel Al-Masry (8th place) and Amal Abu Bakr (10th place)

The Current Club President, Amal Abu Bakr Ahmed, said “I feel proud of all my fellow participants and winners of this tournament. Over the course of the year, these students were able to excel in the field of debates and discuss all the controversial topics raised in a logical and rational manner. Their culture in all fields was the key to their victory in most of the rounds, as the topics raised were not limited to the social sphere only, but also extended to discuss the human rights, humanitarian, economic and even digital aspects. I thank them for their participation and wish them success in their academic career.”

During the speech of the Vice President for Logistics Affairs, Ahmed Al-Samini, he said “It is not clear to you that debates play a role in refining the student’s personality and its importance in increasing knowledge and developing art and rhetoric. For university debates held from the QatarDebate Center to practice debate skills and compete with other teams, which distinguished this tournament, as current circumstances challenged the prohibition of gatherings, and it was held remotely via the Zoom program, more than 10 teams participated in this tournament, all of whom had prior debate experience. In this tournament, however the tournament ended and we are winners of the honor of the participant and the competition for the participating teams.”

Finally, we would like to thank QatarDebate Center for this tournament, and we would also like to thank the Arab Debating Club at Qatar University for their dedicated efforts in urging students to participate and informing them of everything new regarding the debates internationally or locally.
