Latest QS World University Subject Rankings recognizes QU performance for 2022

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject 2022, the world’s most-consulted university ranking, names Qatar University (QU) as one of the world’s top universities for the study of 19 subjects.

From the 19 subjects, 89% improved their positions, 0% decreased and 11% stayed the same. It is worth noting that QU’s best performance is in Theology, Divinity & Religious Studies, and Sports-related Subjects.

QU President Dr. Hassan Al-Derham commented on this achievement saying, “This year Qatar University has been ranked in 19 subjects, a great improvement from the previous year, which also makes Qatar the 57th most represented country in the world. On this occasion, I would like to thank our colleges at QU and the faculty for their outstanding and ongoing efforts, which resulted in the recognition of the excellence and progress made by the University.”

In Academic Reputation, QU’s best performance is in Theology, Divinity & Religious Studies, in which it scores 67. In Employer Reputation, the university’s best performance came in Sports-related Subjects where it earned a score of 91.7. In Citations per Paper, Engineering - Electrical & Electronic is the subject in which QU earned the highest score 98.9. In H-Index, the University received a score of 86.5 for Sports-related Subjects – its highest-scoring subject for this indicator.

The rankings, compiled by global higher education analysts QS Quacquarelli Symonds, provide authoritative comparative analysis on the performance of 15,200 individual university programs, taken by students at 1,543 universities, which can be found in 88 locations across the world, across 51 academic disciplines.

This achievement consolidates QU’s recent achievement in the QS World University Ranking as the institution moved from 245 in 2021 to 224 in the 2022 ranking, effectively jumping 21 places.
