The Problem

The Covid-19 pandemic has presented numerous challenges, including the issue of unnecessary vaccinations when individuals already have existing antibodies from prior infection or vaccination. Additionally, there are environmental concerns related to medical plastic waste such as needles and rapid antibody test kits.

The solution

To address these issues, researchers at Qatar University are developing an advanced rapid antibody test (RABT) that measures antibody titers, providing essential information about an individual's level of protection and the necessity for booster shots. The RABT will be convenient, eco-friendly, and available in a self-reusable kit for purchase, reducing needle waste. The goal of our RABT is to alleviate the impacts of Covid-19 and other infectious diseases on society, including economic, social, and environmental consequences.
