International Prospective Students
All International prospective students who do not hold a valid Qatar residency permit, excluding GCC citizens, must apply for the student visa under the university sponsorship and upload the required documents within the given timeline.
NOTE:
Undergraduate applicants and Arabic Program for Non-Native speakers applicants who are applying for a scholarship and planning to study in the university ONLY when having the scholarship, are not required to apply for the student visa.
Required Documents
Before completing the visa application form below, it is mandatory to check the following required documents and prepare them:
- Online Application Confirmation Page (which should be printed on a paper at the end of applying online, if you couldn't print it out please print a web application summary and use it instead)
- Student's passport copy, valid minimum for one year; need the page/s that have students name, Date of Birth, and Passport expiry date.
- Affidavit of Financial Sponsor to bear the costs of study at the university.The financial sponsor must be a third party, the students are not allowed to sponsor themselves.
- Copy of passport / Qatar ID card of the financial sponsor
- Financial documents that reflect the financial capacity of the sponsor to bear the financial expenses (study, living, etc.) of the student during his study at the university:
- If financial sponsor lives in Qatar, student should submit a "Bank Guarantee" issued by a Qatar local bank in favor of Qatar University with the amount of 20,000 QR = $ 5470, valid for Five years for (Undergraduate & PhD Applicants), Three years for (Masters Applicants) and One year for (ANNS Applicants).
- If Financial sponsor is from outside Qatar, student should submit the bank account statement of the financial sponsor for six months prior to the submission of the visa request. This document should reflect the financial capacity of the sponsor to bear the financial expenses (study, living, etc.) of the student during his study at the university:
- If financial sponsor lives in Qatar, student should submit a "Bank Guarantee" issued by a Qatar local bank in favor of Qatar University with the amount of 20,000 QR = $ 5470, valid for Five years for (Undergraduate & PhD Applicants), Three years for (Masters Applicants) and One year for (ANNS Applicants).
- Health Evaluation: This form should be signed by a Medical Clinic/Hospital in applicant's country. This Health Evaluation form is acceptable ONLY from applicants from outside Qatar who are not having a Qatar residence permit and applying to QU visa application.
- Certificate of "Good Conduct" or "Criminal Clearance" issued by the authority in charge of the student's residence country.
- Approval letter from student's parent or guardian to enroll the university to study and obtain a residence permit under QU residence sponsorship. (for Bachelor Degree students ONLY).
- Complete the "Student Declaration Form".
NOTES:
- The University has the right to recognize some of the above conditions as insufficient, or to add extra conditions based on the student's status.
- Apply online for the student visa and upload the required documents according to the timeline.
- The admission decision will be announced by QU Admission Department according to the admission timeline in each semester.

Visa Online Application
Please remember that:
- Considering for student visa is extremely competitive and applicants are strongly encouraged to submit the application and all required documentation according to the scheduled timeline. Qatar University will not accept applications after the published application deadline.
- The original "Bank Guarantee” should be submitted to the Scholarships and International Admissions Section in person.
- If the student applied for a scholarship, NO need to apply for a student visa when you are planning not to study in the university on your own expense as a paying student. While you need to apply for a student visa if you are planning to study in QU on your own expense as a paying student in case you didn’t get the approval to obtain the scholarship.
- The University has the right to ask for extra documents to support your visa application.
