From safety to social activities, we make every effort to ensure your stay in residence is a memorable one. In addition to our impressive residential facilities, we provide you with the ideal campus living environment to support your collegiate endeavors. By living on campus, you will be within walking distance of your classes, labs, libraries, and athletic facilities. Furthermore, our Dining Services offers a variety of dining options for the ultimate in convenience and value.
Student Housing is more than a place for students to live. Our primary goals are to provide and maintain living and learning facilities that are safe, desirable, functional, and meet your personal needs. Furthermore, provide you with an environment where you can network with other students, interact with your community, and form lasting friendships, as well as support your academic goals. As well, invest in the professional and personal development of our staff to ensure high quality services and to improve your overall residential experience.

Make your commute shorter
You don't need a car to get around this campus since everything is within walking distance and shuttle buses are available on campus. Not only are classes close by, but also the university bank, and dining are halls on campus. The train station on campus is a convenient access point to the public transportation system.
Be independent
You might be living away from your family for the first time as a freshman (first year) at university. Being an independent person has its responsibilities, and this involves being responsible for yourself and organizing your schedule. If you live on campus , you will have the chance to learn these skills alongside many others.

Undergraduate Student Housing
The following are the student housing priority criteria:
- Students who are on scholarships that include housing.
- Qatari and resident students who reside more than 50 km away from the University.
- International students.
- Students with special needs. Cases will be referred to the Inclusion and Special Needs Center to determine eligibility in consultation with the Student Housing and Residential Life Department.
- Students with exceptional circumstances. Cases will be referred to Student Housing and Residential Life Department to determine eligibility.
- Students must be registered for classes during the term of residency
- Students must be under the University’s sponsorship except students who are residents of Qatar under their parent’s sponsorship.
- Students must pay the housing fee in full at the begininng of the semester.
- Students must accept, sign, and abide by all University and Student Housing and Residential Life instructions and procedures.
Housing Application form
Required Documents for Housing Assignments:
- Copy of the student's ID card or a copy of valid passport.
- Copy of the parent's passport or Qatar ID.
- “To Whom It May Concern” letter from the Police Center affiliated with the actual student’s residence stating the address of the student’s (for Qatari and resident students in Qatar).
Living on campus is very different from living at home—it offers not only a place to eat and sleep, but also the chance to be a part of a vibrant community to learn and grow. To facilitate the on-campus living experience for new and returning students, the Student Housing and Residential Life Department offers a reliable and comfortable home base to create a positive living situation. We provide a number of services and amenities that help make everyday life easy. Some of what we offer includes:
- Food Services: The dining hall is located on the ground floor of the student residence building and serves three hot and healthy meals daily.
- Vending Machines: Vending machines are located on the ground floor/lobby area.
- Fitness Center: A fully equipped gym located on the first floor of the building.
- Television Hall: The TV Hall is located on the ground floor; basic cable TV service is provided.
- Study Lounge: The study lounge is equipped with computers for student’s usage.
- Programs and Activities: Staff offers social and educational programs encouraging community development based on student’s interests and needs.
- Residential Specialist Staff: Staff member is available for answering questions and responding to all student’s needsand concerns.
- Security: Security staff is available 24 hours inside the student housing buildings.
- Parking: Car parking spaces designated for resident students.
- Transportation: Transportation between Student Housing and University buildings is provided to all resident students on a daily basis according to a set schedule.
Instructions and Procedures for Student Housing and Residential Life
To all students applying for housing starting from Fall 2023 onward
The new Student Housing fees will be applied upon all new students enrolling in the university beginning of Fall 2023, and Qatar University students who intend to join student housing beginning of Fall 2023.

Students who already registered and residing in Student Housing prior to the Fall 2023 semester will continue to be exempt from the new fees . However, if they choose to change their original room that has assigned before the implementation of the new fees, they will be charged according to the new fees.
Family housing for graduate international students
Qatar University provides family housing for a limited category of married international graduate students, according to the available housing units.
- Housing is allocated to married international graduate students after admission to QU.
- Housing is provided according to the availability for the following categories:
- Students receiving a Graduate Assistantship (GA) scholarship
- Students holding a Research Assistant (RA) position
- Students who receive external funding from their countries (with proof of funding).
- Students must be registered for courses/thesis during the term of residency.
- Students must be under the University’s sponsorship.
- Students must pay the housing fee in full at the start of the semester.
- Students must accept, sign, and abide by all University and Student Housing and Residential Life instructions and procedures.
Required Documents for Housing Assignments:

- Marriage certificate.
- Proof of scholarship or external fund.
