The Library Information Systems (LIS) section provides comprehensive technical and functional support for all systems and services associated with the library. This includes the Integrated Library System (ILS), QU Institutional Repository, Archives and Special Collections, QU Journals Management System, online library e-Resources and the library website.
Our primary goal is to empower faculty, researchers, and students by ensuring seamless access to the information they need whether in print or digital format. We ensure that the library’s services are available anytime, anywhere, array of resources, from physical collections to electronic books and databases, easily accessible both on and off campus in support of teaching, learning, and research.
Library Website
Library Website is the front interface for QU community to access all library services. It provides information about the library, services and collections (e.g. MyAccount, Renew a book, e-Payment services, Research Guides, Study Room Booking, quest for Reviewing a Book, ... etc.). Library Website can be accessed from anywhere and provides access to all the Library’s Online Services.
Library Website is maintained by ITS/LIS and is available around the clock.
MyLibrary (Sierra ILS)
MyLibrary is the library’s Online Public Access Catalog or OPAC tool that allows patrons to search the library and interact with the library via their account.
MyLibrary account contains the users loans and reading lists and provides them with access to library circulation and loan services.
Library Discovery System (Summon DS)
Library Discovery System (Summon DS) is the interface for searching across library online catalog and library subscription e-Resources. Summon DS provides a single unified search across books, ebooks, journals, newspapers, video, images, research guides and more from a single unified index of content that is pre-harvested and optimized for discovery. Summon DS enables our patrons to uncover a wealth of academic content through a simple, user-friendly interface.
QU Digital Hub (QSpace)
Qatar University Digital Hub Portal, where we provide you digital access to Qatar University's original research, scholarly works, administrative and archive of historical materials.
It is a set of services that a university offers to the members of its community for the management and dissemination of digital materials created by the institution and its community members. Qatar University Digital Hub is a digital collection operated and maintained by the Qatar University Library and supported by the ITS department.
QU Journals System (OJS)
QU Journals System is a solution for the management of peer-reviewed academic journals and publishing system. The application serves to manage the cycle of the journal for submission, papers review, acceptance process and publications.

This application is only available to university students, faculty and staff.
It is a citation management desktop application that allows the creation of personal citation databases by importing references from text files or online databases.
Users can generate bibliographies within Microsoft Word according to a standard or a journal citation style using the Cite While You Write plugin.
iThenticate (Anti-Plagiarism Software)
iThenticate is the leading provider of professional plagiarism detection and prevention technology used worldwide by scholarly publishers and research institutions to ensure the originality of written work before publication. This software will allow faculty and researchers (full time) to compare content they are submitting, marking, editing or publishing against content previously published in the iThenticate database of over 45 billion web pages and 130 million content items.
TurnitIn Feedback Studio (with Originality)
TurnitIn Feedback Studio checks for similarity and streamline feedback and grading essays. TurnitIn Originality is a comprehensive protection against academic misconduct including emerging challenges such as AI writing & contract cheating.
Undergraduate students can access the TurnitIn via Blackboard system to submit their assignments.
Postgraduate students and research assistants can access TurnitIn via Blackboard system to check for plagiarism.
QU Facility Booking System (LibCal)
The facility management system allows users to browse and book available facilities at QU, such as study rooms, meeting rooms, computer labs, and indoor/outdoor sports courts. Additionally, it manages event calendar functionalities for colleges and departments.
Library Research Guides Module (LibGuide)
LibGuides is a platform for easily creating & sharing guides about different topics, subject areas, courses, services, and collections.
Library FAQs & Ticketing Module (LibAnswers)
LibAnswers is a full-featured online reference platform. Such as: Question management (tickets) through multiple channels, including an online question form; A searchable knowledge base of FAQs by group and topic; Online chat reference (LibChat).
