The Road Safety Schools Ambassadors Program aimed to develop youth based on the words of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar:
“We continue to face the challenge of development, and I mean first and foremost human development, which is our most important asset and investment in education, health, infrastructure and others is linked to this task and our success in development is measured.”
Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani
About the Program
This initiative is aimed at high school students supporting the Qatar National Vision 2030’s human development pillar. The program was implemented by Mubadara for Social Impact, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the National Traffic Safety Committee, the General Traffic Department, and UNESCO.
The “Road Safety Schools Ambassadors Program” seeks to engage students in awareness campaigns using innovative methods to spread knowledge about traffic safety. It also aims to emphasize the importance of preserving lives and ensuring public safety while fostering a generation that understands the significance of road safety in their daily lives. Additionally, the program encourages young people to play an active role in reducing negative behaviors on the roads, contributing to the objectives of the National Traffic Safety Strategy.
Launched in 2015 in several public schools, as part of the National Traffic Safety Strategy 2013-2022, benefiting a large number of schools over the years. It had a significant impact on promoting a traffic safety culture, particularly among young people. As part of the program’s development and expansion, the center has partnered with Mubadara for Social Responsibility to manage and improve this initiative. Over 55 schools have applied to participate in the program, which ran from 1st of February 2025 until mid-April 2025 and included an interactive platform that allowed students to gain essential road safety awareness. The program also appointed traffic safety ambassadors in schools, who played a key role in spreading safe driving culture and initiating projects within their schools to enhance road safety.
