Graduates are kindly requested to read the FAQ carefully, as it covers all enquiries related to the graduation ceremony.

General Information

The ceremony lasts approximately one hour, which includes honoring the graduates and distributing the certificates.
Female graduates will be honored by the dean of their respective college in the presence of the university president or his representative.
Yes, buses will be available in distant parking areas to shuttle graduates and their guests to the graduation hall.
Yes, volunteers will be available to assist male and female graduates with special needs and help them ascend the podium.

Nominated Graduate Speaker

Distinguished Female Ceremony: Open to undergraduate female students with a GPA of 3.5+ in addition to graduate students with outstanding research (Qataris only).

Male Ceremony & Individual College Ceremonies: Open to all graduates with a GPA of 2.80+ including graduate students (Qataris only).

Candidates must have strong public speaking skills and pass an interview with a selection committee.

Official Communication with Graduates

The university email is the official communication channel for graduates. Please ensure your university email is activated and contact the IT Department if you encounter any issues.
You can check your academic record through the Student Records Section – Registration Department by emailing: records@qu.edu.qa
Yes, the ceremony includes all graduates from the following terms:
  • Summer 2024
  • Fall 2024
  • Winter 2025
  • Spring 2025 (expected graduates)
Graduates' seats are arranged according to:
  1. Academic degree
  2. Cumulative GPA
Yes, the Class of 2025 graduation ceremony includes all expected graduates at the end of Spring 2025, and they will be invited to attend the ceremony.
Yes, all students expected to graduate in Spring 2025 will graduate even if they receive a failing grade in one of their courses.
Since the ceremony takes place before grades for Spring 2025 are finalized, students will graduate based on their last approved cumulative GPA, which is the Fall 2024 GPA.
No, the Class of 2025 graduation ceremony only includes actual graduates from the following semesters:
  • Summer 2024
  • Fall 2024
  • Winter 2025
In addition to students expected to graduate in Spring 2025. Students with remaining courses for Summer 2025 or Fall 2025 will be included in the next graduation class.
No, graduation ceremonies cannot be postponed. All expected graduates are included in their class ceremony only. An electronic invitation will be sent to attend the ceremony, and if you are absent, you will not be included in the next ceremony.
Yes, names can be corrected according to official documents (such as passport or Qatari ID card) at the support desk in the graduates' registration hall on the day of the ceremony.

Financial & Registration Requirements

Yes, you are allowed to attend the ceremony, but you will not receive your graduation statement until all financial dues are settled.
Please refer to the Distinguished Graduates page or contact the Graduate Studies Office to confirm the details.
Distinguished female graduates are honored according to their cumulative GPAs. Details can be viewed on the Distinguished Graduates page.

Invitation Cards

Physical invitation cards will be distributed and must be presented when entering the ceremony.
Graduates can collect their parents' invitation cards according to the schedule announced on the invitation cards page.
In emergency cases, please contact us via email at gci@qu.edu.qa or through the Contact Us page.
You can collect the card at the ceremony hall just before the start of the ceremony, provided you present documentation proving your arrival date to the country.
No, children under the age of 12 are not permitted to attend the ceremony. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Photography and Live Streaming

The Communication and Public Relations Department will photograph graduates during the ceremony. Photos will be sent to the offices of college deans, and collection dates will be announced via university email.
Yes, the ceremony will be live-streamed on social media platforms, and the recording will be available for viewing later.
Please note that your attendance at the ceremony implies your implicit consent to photography and publication.

Ceremony Apologies and Gift Collection

No one is allowed to attend the ceremony or receive the gift on behalf of the graduate.
You can collect the gift within six months from the date of the ceremony from the Business Support Office at Student Affairs Administrative Services.
Yes, but you must provide:
  • A copy of the graduate's ID card
  • The authorized person's ID card
  • An official authorization letter

Graduation Gown

No, the graduation gown has been updated starting with the Class of 2025, and wearing the new attire is required.
Only the length can be adjusted, without any changes to the design of the gown.
A size chart has been provided on the graduation gown page. Please review it before completing the purchase.
The amount paid can be refunded in case of duplicate payment for the same size by contacting the Gowns Committee via email at gowns@qu.edu.qa or through the Contact Us page.
