    Dr. Saud Abdulaziz Abdulghani is considered as a pioneer in the field of mechanical engineering and applied research. He boasts a distinguished career, marked by profound expertise and a rich record of effective scientific and practical achievements, innovations, and inventions. His experience has also manifested in his administrative and academic leadership in higher education. Dr. Saud Abdulaziz earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom in 2002. He also received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Arab Republic of Egypt in 1993 and 1997, respectively.

    Dr. Saud Abdul Aziz Abdul Ghani joined Qatar University in 2008, where he served as Head of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the College of Engineering for two terms (2009-2014, and 2023-2025), after serving as Assistant Dean for Development and Industrial Relations at the same college (2014-2017), thus establishing bridges between academic research and real-world industrial solutions.

    Dr. Saud Abdulaziz has an outstanding applied research record, confirmed by more than 110 internationally peer-reviewed scientific publications in the fields of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

    Dr. Saud Abdulaziz has a strong research funding history and holds several patents. Over the past decade, he has secured research grants exceeding US$13.7 million from various governmental and private institutions. His academic leadership is evident in his active contributions to regional and international conferences and professional journals, including his chairmanship of the prestigious 15th International Conference on Applied Energy, hosted by Qatar university, Doha in 2023. His current research interests encompass advanced fields such as applied thermal engineering, building energy and physics, agricultural engineering, computational and experimental fluid dynamics, and flow imaging techniques.

    Dr. Saud actively participated in regional and international environmental committees and consultations related to the Montreal Protocol. His role was reflected in formulating regional visions and positions and exchanging experiences that helped the countries of the region strengthen their joint efforts in protecting the ozone layer and the climate, making him a regional reference in this field
