    Center for Law and Development


    Established in 2016, the Center for Law and Development (CLD) serves as a leading platform for advancing legal research, policy engagement, and capacity building in alignment with the pillars of the Qatar National Vision 2030. As a gateway for achieving law-related national objectives, the Center focuses on addressing Qatar's evolving development needs through rigorous, interdisciplinary research and practical policy solutions.

    The CLD operates at the intersection of academia, government, and the private sector, fostering collaboration to support evidence-based law and policymaking in Qatar. Its work spans key areas essential to the country's sustainable economic and environmental progress, as well as human development, reflecting a comprehensive and forward-looking approach to legal scholarship.

    Since its inception, the Center has secured competitive research funding from both internal and external sources, produced a strong portfolio of high-quality scholarly publications, and contributed significantly to enhancing the research profile and international standing of the College of Law at Qatar University.​

    Committed to bridging scholarship, education, and practice, the CLD plays a central role in supporting Qatar's legal development and institutional reform agenda, positioning itself as a vital contributor to the country's long-term vision.
