Objective: To be the leading force in the development of the research and graduate studies strategy, the focal entity responsible for ongoing planning and evaluation efforts of the Research and Graduate Studies (RGS) sector, facilitating the achievement of Qatar University’s vision.
Research Planning Section
- Develop and manage the RGS 5-year sectoral strategy.
- Monitor strategic measures and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Conduct risk assessments of the 5-year strategy.
- Ensure strategic alignment of all offices and research entities under RGS.
- Advise on, review, and monitor operational plans for research entities.
- Collect, analyze, and report research data to the institutional level.
Research Quality Section
- Evaluate research output and performance of all QU research entities.
- Support the Research Entity Review Committee in 5-year cyclical reviews.
- Report on research performance using SciVal and Web of Science.
- Conduct operational and functional risk assessments.
- Uphold quality standards (e.g., ISO 17025 accredited methods).
- Maintain the university-wide research equipment inventory.
