    TOEFL iBT



    TOEFL iBT evaluates the ability of an individual to use and understand English in an academic setting. The test is given in English and takes about 2 hours. The four language skills tested are: 



        1. Listening
        2. Reading
        3. Writing
        4. Speaking.




    QUTC, along with many other test centers in Qatar, offers the TOEFL iBT (Internet-Based Test).

    Score Validity: 

    • 2 years 
    • The test score is no longer valid if it is older than 2 years from the start of the intended semester for admission.

    Score Info: 


      • TOEFL iBT is designed to assess English language skills across a wide range of levels. There is no pass or fail on the TOEFL Test.
      • For the TOEFL iBT test, candidates will receive four scaled scores and a total score between 0–120. Qatar University is currently working on establishing the equivalency for the new TOEFL iBT score scale (1–6). The approved equivalency will be announced once it becomes official.
      • The minimum score required for getting an exemption from the Foundation English Program is 61 on the TOEFL iBT. 
      • Candidates must submit the scores to QUTC by selecting to send the score report directly to Qatar University, using QU recipient code 8943.
      • No photocopies or printouts are accepted.
      • QUTC uploads scores to BANNER only after the official score report has been received and successfully verified. 
      • QUTC reserves the right to verify the TOEFL test scores received.




      • Students who submit TOEFL Home Edition scores may be required to complete an additional verification process, which could include an additional English language assessment.
