    Research Highlight — Biomimetic Innovation
    3D Bioprinting Project

Synthesis and Characterization of Biomimetic Bone Regeneration Materials

Team: Omar AlSahan, Mohammed Molla, Mohammed AlSiddiqie, Osama Yakti, Dr. Amir

This project develops innovative bioactive bone scaffolds that mimic human bone using PLA and hydroxyapatite via advanced 3D printing. Reinforced scaffolds enhance mechanical strength, biocompatibility, and osteogenic potential — offering cost-effective alternatives to traditional grafts for craniofacial and orthopedic defects. The research combines material science, biomedical engineering, and cell biology, training undergraduate students in cutting-edge biomaterials research.

3D-printed bone scaffolds — porous architecture, enhanced osseointegration. Micro-CT & in-vitro studies ongoing.

Undergraduate training in advanced biomaterials, fostering next-generation dental researchers.
