As part of NEDC’s commitment to fostering regional and international educational collaboration, the Center partnered with the Educational Research and Development Center at the Palestinian Ministry of Education to organize this joint international virtual conference.
The event addressed the growing global and regional focus on enhancing science and mathematics education, particularly through the STEM approach and international assessment programs such as PISA and TIMSS.
The conference highlighted the significance of science and mathematics education as key pillars for educational quality and innovation. It provided a platform for educators, researchers, policymakers, and teachers to share insights, showcase best practices, and explore contemporary trends in teaching and learning.
Participants included university faculty members, school leaders, supervisors, and graduate students from across the Arab world and beyond.
General Goal
To provide researchers and educators with opportunities to share innovative ideas and successful experiences aimed at advancing science and mathematics education and utilizing international studies to inform policy and educational reform.
Classroom practices in science and mathematics education.
Preparation and professional development of science and mathematics teachers.
Emerging trends in implementing the STEM approach.
Studies related to international assessments and their impact on science and mathematics education.
Educational leaders from ministries and schools, university faculty members, researchers, science and mathematics teachers, supervisors, lab technicians, and graduate students, as well as parents and community members interested in STEM education.
Documentation and Publication
Conference proceedings were published on the Qatar University website and NEDC webpage, with media coverage on “Masa’at Al-Doha” (Qatar Radio) and dissemination via NEDC’s social media platforms.
