Project Summary
The project aims to advance the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of aquaponics systems through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Computer Vision (CV), and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. The research focuses on fish health monitoring, plant disease detection, environmental monitoring, and intelligent automation for sustainable food production. The project will establish Qatar’s first comprehensive AI-powered aquaponics research platform at the Agricultural Research Station of Qatar University in collaboration with Wageningen University & Research (The Netherlands) and Akdeniz University (Türkiye), contributing directly to Qatar’s National Food Security Strategy.
