About the Department
Established in 1984, the Department of Biomedical Sciences curriculum was developed in collaboration with leading healthcare agencies in Qatar to prepare a qualified workforce for diagnostic laboratories and to provide students with professional, rewarding careers in clinical laboratories or further postgraduate studies. In addition to the structured curriculum, the Department emphasizes independent learning and the development of professional skills through dynamic in-classroom learning, practical laboratory sessions, seminars, a capstone research project, and clinical internship. The department facilitates graduates' career paths by enabling them to apply their acquired knowledge, skills, and competencies in clinical laboratories and research. The Department of Biomedical Sciences offers bachelor's and master's degrees in biomedical sciences.
