The Biomedical Sciences Department provides a structured, supervised clinical internship across the core disciplines of Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS).
- Clinical Chemistry, urine and body fluids analysis
- Hematology and coagulation
- Immunology and virology
- Microbiology
- Blood Transfusion and Immunohematology
- Laboratory Management and Operation
Duration: 15 weeks
Structure: 5 rotations (3 weeks each)
Contact Hours: 96 hours per rotation

2. Sidra Medicine
Pathology Department is accredited by College of American Pathologist (CAP) and Joint Commission International (JCI).
Preceptors
The Department assigns qualified preceptors in accordance with various Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) established with clinical facilities. These preceptors are licensed medical laboratory practitioners, accredited by the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), Qatar.
ASCP BOC certification
Upon successful completion of the undergraduate program, graduates are eligible to register for Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Certification that is offered by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), United States (US).
Issuing of the BSc degree is not contingent upon the graduates passing any type of external certification or licensure examination.
National Licensing for Allied Health Practitioners
Upon successful completion of the undergraduate program, graduates are exempted from the laboratory experience requirement for licensure in the national healthcare sectors (Circular 14/2023).
