Q. What is an accredited Foreign Dietitian Education (FDE) program?

A. ACEND's FDE standards are tailored to meet the needs of the host country . FDE graduates are eligible to apply to an ACEND accredited dietetic internship to complete supervised practice in the US in order to be eligible to write CDR's credentialing exam for registration.

Q. Can a student or graduate apply for SPP only?

A. No, the undergraduate program of HND in QU is a coordinated program; meaning that SPP (Supervised Practice Program) is integrated with the didactic courses offered by HND. Students who have completed the didactic courses outisde QU, are not eligible to solely enroll in SPP.

Q. Is the degree of BSc in Human Nutrition obtained from Qatar University sufficient to become a licensed dietitian and eligible to practice as dietitian in State of Qatar?

A. No. Graduates are expected to refer to guidelines set by Ministry of Public Health in Qatar, as stated on their website: www.moph.gov.qa  

However, QU graduates are exempted from taking the licensing prometric exam by the ministry of public health (MOPH) in Qatar.
