Graduation Ceremony - Class of 2026

Under the gracious patronage of His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar University celebrates the graduation of its 49th cohort of graduates (Class of 2026) on Monday, 4 May, 2026, at 10:00 am in the Qatar University Sports and Events Complex. Additionally, the Distinguished Female Graduates Ceremony will be held under the patronage and presence of Her Highness Consort of HH The Amir Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani, on Tuesday, 5 May, 2026, at 10:00 am.

The individual college ceremonies for female graduates will be held successively after the two main graduation ceremonies.

Important Information

Distinguished Graduates

Bachelor's students require a cumulative GPA higher than 3.5 and no disciplinary action. Graduate students are honored based on research excellence criteria.

Invitation Cards

Physical invitation cards must be collected in person. Distribution dates for colleges are from 26-30 April, 2026. Main ceremony cards are distributed after rehearsal.

Photography & Live Stream

Official photos will be taken and sent to Deans' offices. Ceremonies will be live-streamed on QU official platforms. A photography booth will be available in the reception hall.

Graduation Attire

A size chart is available on the Graduation Attire page and should be reviewed before purchase. Only length adjustments are permitted. For issues, contact the Gown Committee.

Absence from Ceremony

If unable to attend, you can collect your graduation gift from the Business Support Office one week after the last ceremony for up to six months.

Safety Note

For the safety of all attendees, please be advised that bringing helium balloons into the ceremony hall is strictly prohibited.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, you are permitted to attend the ceremony; however, you will not be able to receive the Graduation Certificate until all financial obligations are settled.

No, children under the age of twelve are not permitted to attend the ceremony.

The Communications and Public Relations Department will photograph graduates during the ceremony. The photos will be sent to the College Deans’ Offices, and collection dates will be announced via the university email.

No, attendance at the ceremony and collection of the gift (at the ceremony) are limited to the graduate only; representatives are not permitted.
