Prof Abdullah Al-Sadi

Abdullah Mohammed Al-Sadi is a professor of plant pathology, with extensive academic, research, and leadership experience spanning 26 years. He served as Dean of the College of Agricultural and Marine Sciences at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Oman, from 2018 to 2024, and as a professor at the University of Al Dhaid (UAE), and he is internationally recognized as an expert in plant biosecurity. Al-Sadi earned his PhD in Plant Pathology from the University of Queensland, Australia, in 2007, and completed a specialization in Leadership and Management from Harvard Business School in 2023. He has successfully led over 100 national research teams and collaborated in more than 50 international studies across 15 countries. He has authored over 520 publications, including 360 Scopus-indexed papers, achieving a cumulative Impact Factor (WoS) exceeding 1000 and over 8000 citations. Scopus ranked him first among more than 4000 researchers in SQU history (1986–2024) for peer-reviewed publications. Al-Sadi received 47 national and international awards, including His Majesty's Order of Commendation for Excellence in Research, Innovation & the 4th Industrial Revolution, Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation (Influential Figure), and recognition as a highly cited researcher from 2020 to 2025 according to Elsevier-Scopus data.
