Prof. Sami Sayadi joined Qatar University in January 2019 as a Distinguished Professor in Environmental Biotechnology. In August 2021, he was appointed Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at the College of Arts and Sciences. Throughout his career, he has taught a variety of courses in applied microbiology and bioremediation. His research focuses on developing bioprocesses for the valorization of diverse liquid and solid residues and wastes through microbial fermentation. Prof. Sayadi has published extensively, with more than 27300 citations and an H-index of 92 on Google Scholar. He has supervised 35 successfully defended PhD theses and led numerous research projects funded by the European Union, JICA/JST, USAID, and QNRF.
